A review of Little Sisters Of The Assumption by G Hobbs nee Doyle written on Monday 29th of September 2014
Back in the early 1960's in west London life was hard for my working class Irish parents ,and when my mother got very sick and needed surgery , and. The worry of leaving four children under the age of seven without any one to take care of them was very traumatic,, all my relations has families of their own to take care of , it as an impossible situation ...
My dad went to see the.sistere at their convent in Ladbroke. Grove after hearing such wonderful stories from neighbours about the care and compassion they had witnessed with themselves and neighbours too. That wa the start of the stream of inspired souls that arrived on our doorstep promptly every day for the six long weeks of the.school holidays .
I clearly remember the kindness and love they showered on us girls, and the span fritters Sister Edmund made on a Monday !! We were fed and taken care of , and so grateful too.
Christmas parties were all the children they had encountered would be treated to a film show and a present , our lives were happy ...
Thank you so much for giving our family support and.spiritusl guidance back when all seemed lost ..
